Craft Beer by B-cycle in Boulder

Craft Beer by B-cycle in Boulder

City Tour, 8 miles

Overview

Boulder has been synonymous with craft brewing for as long as the industry has existed. In fact, we’re the home to Colorado’s first craft brewery as well as the American Homebrewer’s Association and the Brewers Association. Whether you’re into refreshing IPAs, rich stouts, or even something a bit more adventurous, you can bet we brew it in Boulder. Here are a few of my favorite breweries, and why I love them. I’ve picked locations near B-cycle bike share stations in order to highlight the value of one-way trips: Just because you biked to these breweries doesn’t mean you have to bike home.

The Pearl Street location of Mountain Sun’s growing beer empire remains my favorite for its bustling atmosphere, stellar service, and street side patio (Note that Mountain Sun is a cash-only venue, though an ATM is available on-site). Standout beer: Raspberry or Blackberry Wheat

B. Shine  2027 13th Street | www.shineboulder.com | (303) 449-0120

With beers named after yoga poses, sustainably crafted cocktails, extensive gluten-free offerings and an elixir bar showcasing healing tonics, there’s no other way to say it: Shine is as Bouldery as it gets. Standout beer: Down Dog Imperial Red

C. West Flanders Brewery  1125 Pearl Street | wfbrews.com | (303) 447-2739

D. Walnut Brewery  1123 Walnut Street | www.walnutbrewery.com | (303) 447-1345

Su-Th, 11am-11pm / F-Sa, 11am-Midnight

E. FATE Brewing  1600 38th Street | www.fatebrewingcompany.com | (303) 449-3283

Twisted pine is perhaps best known for the Ghost Face Challenge, featuring both beer and pizza made with Ghost Peppers, though this brewery is also a great spot to catch music many nights of the week and pub trivia every Monday at 7:00.  Standout beer: Billy’s Chilies (it’s not as weird as it sounds)

G. Sanitas Brewery  3550 Frontier Avenue | www.sanitasbrewing.com | (303) 442-4130
